Terms of service
Last updated: 10 July 2026
Hoodzy is a discovery platform that helps verified residents of a gated community in India find and connect with neighbours who sell — every transaction happens directly between buyer and seller. By creating an account or using Hoodzy you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What Hoodzy is (and isn’t)
- Hoodzy is a venue: we connect neighbours and provide the feed, ordering, and trust rails. Every sale is a direct contract between the buyer and the seller — Hoodzy is not a party to it.
- We never handle money. Buyers pay sellers directly by UPI or cash. Payment confirmations in the app are self-attested by the parties; Hoodzy provides no escrow, wallet, refund or chargeback facility and takes no commission.
- We do not prepare food, stitch garments, teach classes or deliver goods, and we do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality or delivery of anything sold on the platform.
2. Accounts & residency
- You must be 18 or older and sign in with your own phone number.
- You must claim only the society and flat where you actually live. Residency may be confirmed by your household; claiming a flat that is not yours is grounds for suspension.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. One person, one account.
3. Selling on Hoodzy
- Sellers must describe items truthfully, honour posted prices, cut-off times and delivery commitments, and fulfil confirmed orders in good faith.
- Sellers are solely responsible for complying with laws that apply to their trade — including food-safety requirements (FSSAI, where applicable), tax obligations, and any society by-laws governing commercial activity.
- Trust badges such as Verified are earned through fulfilled orders and ratings, are granted and revoked at Hoodzy’s discretion, and cannot be bought or transferred.
4. Buying on Hoodzy
- Place orders you intend to honour. Sellers plan batches on confirmed counts — habitual no-shows and unpaid orders affect your buyer rating and may restrict your account.
- Pay the seller directly and mark payment honestly. Disputes about money are between you and the seller, though our moderation team may act on repeated bad-faith reports.
5. Community rules
- Reviews go both ways. Post only honest reviews based on real orders; do not offer or accept anything in exchange for ratings.
- No harassment, hate speech, spam, or misuse of a neighbour’s contact details. Phone numbers revealed for an order may be used only for that order.
- No illegal, dangerous or prohibited goods and services. No misrepresentation of identity, residency or wares.
- Reports have teeth: repeated credible reports can automatically restrict an account pending human review. We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules or harm the community.
6. Content
You own the content you post (photos, descriptions, reviews) and grant Hoodzy a non-exclusive licence to host and display it to operate the service — for example, showing a seller’s post to their society, or on pages the seller chooses to share. Post only content you have the right to use.
7. Liability
Hoodzy is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hoodzy is not liable for the acts or omissions of buyers or sellers, the quality or safety of goods and services exchanged, payment disputes, or indirect and consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
8. Changes, termination & governing law
- We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in the app, and continued use after notice means acceptance.
- You may stop using Hoodzy and delete your account at any time.
- These terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts at Hyderabad, Telangana having jurisdiction.
